This crazy bouffant hairdo has caught my eye in street style pictures. I love hair that makes a statement, and I love the "one just got out of an avant-garde fashion show" feeling. But I have no idea how to achieve the look myself. I suppose it envolves a lot of hairspray though. Any ideas? Photos: the sartorialist, face hunter, stylesightings, moderniteter.

I think you'd have to start out with the right type of hair to make it easier? I know it wouldn't work for me without a ton of work because I have thin, fine hair. But yes you're onto it - heat, product, teasing, etc etc.
love these looks- i just wonder how well they really work..with the wind..must mean a lot of hair spray or such tangled ness that it just stays haha

Curls, lots of teasing, and a gratuitous amount of hairspray I suppose.
Or maybe just a horridly windy day, that might work as well.
