Day 1: Rosenborg Castle + Botanic Garden

Rosenborg Castle is situated in the centre of Copenhagen, so it's very easy to find it, and it's very close to the Botanic Garden, which i visited after going to the castle. Inside the castle there's a museum where you can see many of the crown jewels, plus furniture, paintings and many other artifacts that were part of past danish royalty's residences. The castle was first opened to the public in 1838 and was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606.

Outside the castle and in its surrounds there is a garden that is open to the public (no need to pay to just walk around the garden), there's also a lake at the castle front side, very popular among the birds that are so used to be fed by human hands. Just get a seat in front of the lake that after one second you will be surrounded by ducks and doves. Too bad i had no bread with me. I love feeding animals in nature. About the pictures:

1 and 2- Me in the garden at Rosenborg. I had to leave my handbag in the entrance in order to go to the museum, but i couldn't leave my kleenex box there. I'm allergic and historical museums constantly make me sneeze.
3-Bust of Christian IV (I'm not quite sure, but from what i remember this was one of the kings who lived in Rosenborg).

In Copenhagen's Botanic Garden, you will find not only a beautiful outdoors but a large complex of heated houses, obviously because of danish very cold climate during most part of the year. 13 thousand species may be seen in the place, and in comparisson, the total flora in Europe sums 11 thousand species.

Unfortunatly it was over 3pm when we arrived there, and the glass houses were closed. The Botanic Garden is a part of the University of Copenhagen and it was opened to the public in 1874. If you're in Copenhagen, it's totally worth it to go there for a visit!
