"This is really the country side", John said, when we arrived in the place where my dad grew up. Leaving the car, and having a 360 degrees look around the area, it really feels like the end of the world. No people, no noise, no pollution, which is simply wonderful. A little dull at the first sight (I can't imagine myself spending a week or more there, like some times I did as a child in june, but as a child you see the world differently, right?), but little by little its hidden beauty becomes more nitid, enchanting one's eyes with its reticence. The tiny little glimpse of vibrant colour in a sea of green, like a little yellow flower in its loneliness, the unexpected rainbow after a very hot day, when it deliciously rains making the ground so cosy, the nature, huger than you, or much smaller that becomes almost insignificant or just like you, like us. P.S.: I edited four pictures from the post below using some tool available on flickr. The result is quite simple, but I believe it makes a little more justice to what has been photographed. Check it here. Ah, and photos 8 and 9 were taken by John with his own camera. My sunset shots were not so good =/

Hi, I landed on your blog through Seraphine's site. I felt at home right away, because I'm a journalist too, and a citizen of the world, and some of my Brazilian friends used to say that I'm "metade Brasileira"- although only in my heart, I might add. More than that though, I'm Swiss, plus I have Australian citizenship also.
Those photos are absolutely stunning, and I like your writing too.
wow I'm still amazed by the rich colors of Brazil, that sunrise (sunset?) is gorgeous
i love that feeling of solitude, that you are at the end of the world and nothing can hurt you. and you're right about beauty, sometimes you have to slow the eyes down and really look to see it. then it becomes magical, and you love it more for the surprise.
it's the same way with people too, the best friends are the ones that surprise you with the beauty of the world, yours and theirs.
it's like using borrowed eyes.
Romeika!
Oh, pretty, so bright and clear!
The pictures are amazing!
WOW! Stunning shots, amazing landscape.

Bettina, welcome! So you're a swiss girl with a brazilian soul, lovely to hear;-) Thanks for the kind words, and feel free to come back here some other times.
Jayne, it's a sunset, my husband took this pic ^.^
Seraphine, you described my feeling with much better words, thank you!
As a city girl (Los Angeles), seeing these peaceful open spaces is very refreshing!
Welcome back, Romeika!
Rsrsrrs, but I never visited these places on your wonderful shots.
Ciao!
Beautiful & really well taken! I love how the flowers are the focus in all the photos.
beautiful!
Wally, it's been a month since I came back from Brazil hehe! I took long to start posting the pics. But thanks, anyway ^.^
très belles photos kis!
your pics are amazing..I totally envy you..what a wonderful view you had
what beautiful, beautiful pictures.
Que lugar maravilhoso! Adorei as fotos!
I love the pictures, they're gorgeous... and the little blurb at the bottom of it. It sound like a good start to a short novel.
Charmaine, I wanted to describe the feeling of this place like if I was going to write a fiction story, so your comment made me really happy:-)
