Photo Day

Ever since I saw this on Lily + Oli, I wanted to try it: one photo/one hour. I've done it before but stopped by the middle of the day, then, I realized it would be much easier in the weekend. Anyway, that's what this saturday looked like:

I woke up at 09.00, but didn't get up before 09.40. Typical saturday.

10.00 - John had prepared breakfast and bought me roses.

11.30 - we arrived in the center and went straight to the botanic garden. Lovely winter weather.

12.00 - I spotted this cute bird there, actually there were 3 of them. So nice they weren't afraid of being close to us.

13.00 - at the King's garden. A couple of ducks and pigeons "posed" for me. hehe

14.00 - I drank hot chocolate and ate two muffins at a movie theater café.

15.00 - Some people protesting against scientology.
16.00 - After a couple of frustrated attempts of buying movie tickets (some films we wanted to see had already started, or the ticket line was too long), we ended up at an artsy theater where we saw Frost/Nixon.

18.30 - Towards the central station.

19.30 - John started making dinner while I was talking to my mom online.

20.30 - Dinner time: fish, potatoes and veggies.
21.30 - Watched TV a bit, actually a film I saw long time ago, Duplex. Funny that I had totally forgotten about it.

22.30 - Checked my mail and went to bed after 23.00.

This is soooo cool! I want to do this now! But I don't think mine will be as interesting as yours.

Romeika, once again, I love your pictures. There is this sort of faded quality about the color that I just adore. I would love to recreate that feel in my own pictures. I especially love the second one, you captured a very common subject in a very artistic way. It's beautiful!

Abs!

Line, I really liked the film, it was so dynamic! I can't recall seeing an "interview film" as better as this one. The actor who plays the Frost guy is flawless, I guess he's the same one who played Tony Blair in "The Queen".

a day in the life of romeika!
in some ways, an ordinary life: you got up, ate, went somewhere, came home, ate and went to bed.
but the details: the flowers at breakfast, observing beauty in the park, time together with john, and talking to your mother suggest there is much love and intellectual involvement in your life.
and of course, all the space between your photos.

This is so much fun!! I missed your work so much! Your husband's so sweet for getting you the roses on any ordinary day((:

Love the picture of the vegs! And I could barely see the birds in the other one!

Romeika said...

Kira, sou uma mulher de sorte hehe Bjs!

Su, it's indeed cool! Kiss

Seraphine, you described it perfectly, thank u!

Penelope, he's very sweet, indeed. As for the bird pic, there's only one bird in it, it's a little hard to see it due to the exposure:-)

Your faded colour photos are my favourite this week...how can you manage to take sych pictures? which camera are you using now? I especially like the second photo,it's just beautiful.

Romeika said...

ClandestineChic, thank u!

Evelyn, thank you! I use a canon powershot a710is and a canon eosd60, and do all my process on photoshop cs3 extended, which allows me to give this vintage effect on my pics. I like to play with the exposure as well, making the pics sort of dark.
