Vogue UK's website displays a little story about favourite fashion moments on film. Apart from the fact most of the costumes are vintage, the period dramas are mostly contemporary cinema - films like Atonement, The Changeling (which I had mentioned before here) and the not yet released Australia dominate the magazine's preference against only two older pictures. É, eu estava falando disso ontem com um amigo, Romeika. Discutindo a revolução da moda vista no cinema. Ele, por um lado, prefere os figurinos modernos como os de Across the Universe, Sex and the City e The Devil Wears Prada. Já eu, prefiro peças mais ousadas e grandes... hahahahaha. Não gostei nada de Elizabeth - A Era de Ouro, mas fiquei muito impressionado com as roupas. Entretanto, acho que os melhores figurinos já apresentados num filme não estão em nada atual, mas sim em My Fair Lady!!

movies set in victorian times, though, i find boring in spite of their color and pomp.
it's all talk talk talk and intrigue. which is great over coffee, but it makes me sleepy in the theaters.

Hoje em dia, elementos técnicos como os figurinos são mais que importantes para o cinema. Curioso, foi a lista da Vogue ter sido formada por uma maioria de filmes lançados neste ano. Poxa, tanto filme com figurinos belos que conhecemos. Será que não dava para tê-los mencionado também?

Kau, estou com vc. Apesar de figurinos modernos serem uma boa inspiracao na hora de se vestir, na hora de ver um filme, prefiro figurinos de filmes de epocas passadas. Eh impressionante o resultado criativo do trabalho desse pessoal. Ainda nao vi "Elizabeth: a era de ouro", mas pelas imagens e trailer percebe-se que os figurinos sao um ponto forte no filme. Adoro as roupas em "My Fair Lady"! Bjs.
Seraphine, I can't remember many films set in victorian times right now, the last one I saw was "Picnic at Hanging Rock", and I must confess I was more into the costumes than anything else.. If it wasn't for the mystery thing, I guess I'd have napped.

Eu adoro os figurinos dos filmes contemporâneos, mas as produções de época têm um charme especial até pelo fato dessa área ser fundamental para a caracterização dos personagens. Não curto nada muito exagerado (a não ser em "Maria Antonieta", que realmente tinha um trabalho de figurino muito detalhista), prefiro algo mais singelo como o que foi mostrado em "Atonement".
Vinicius, tb acho lindo figurinos como de "Atonement", mas isso do "exagero" tem a ver com a epoca q o filme se passa. Por exemplo,no seculo XVII o exagero gritava mesmo hehe Acho fascinante como muitos filmes conseguem reproduzir tao bem algo tao especifico de uma epoca passada. E no caso do filme da Sofia, o figurino nao apenas reproduz o estilo da epoca, como tb transmite emocoes necessarias para q se compreenda o espirito do filme. Genial, nao?

I read that article on Vpgue online a little while ago - really interesting! Right now, there's a green dress, very similar to the one the Kiera Knighly wears in the 'library' scene, avalible at Zara - a total must buy.
